Opening of «The Polyptych of the Janelas Verdes»

On Portugal Day, Espaço Quinto Império opened to the public its exhibition dedicated to the Panels of Saint Vincent — between the word, music and the invisible.

On Portugal Day, 10 June 2026, Espaço Quinto Império inaugurated «The Polyptych of the Janelas Verdes», the exhibition dedicated to the Panels of Saint Vincent, curated by Professor Manuel J. Gandra. The hall filled — Freemasons and non-Freemasons, scholars, artists and the curious — in a single gesture of openness and community.

The ceremony began with the hosts' words at the table, beneath the banner of the Espaço and the flag of Portugal, and continued through the crossing of the «Fiat Lux» portal — a threshold of initiatic symbolism that leads the visitor to the heart of the installation.

Among bookcases and armchairs, beneath the painted sky and the motto «mens agitat molem», the public followed the contemporary reading of the Panels proposed by the exhibition — a journey through memory, through faith and through the Portuguese vocation of the Quinto Império.

The experience was enveloped by Vasco Lima's original soundtrack, «Voz da Ausência» — a sonic architecture that weaves together the echo of cathedrals, the murmur of the Atlantic and the lament of the Portuguese guitar, giving body to saudade as a mission.

Here are the video and images of an inaugural afternoon that marks the beginning of a new cycle at Espaço Quinto Império.
